Outsource to Bangladesh: What Clients Abroad Should Know

Outsource to Bangladesh with fewer surprises: what web development costs in USD, how to pay by Wise or Payoneer, time-zone overlap, and what to check first.

Business owner on a video call with a web designer on a laptop — how clients who outsource to Bangladesh review a project remotely

If you run a business or an agency in the US, the UK, Canada or Australia, you have probably been told that you can outsource to Bangladesh and save money. That is true, but the saving only holds if the project is run well. This guide covers what to expect on cost, payment, time zones and communication, and how to check a provider before you send any money.

It is written by Selimuzzaman Afridi, who runs WebDesignerBD, a small web studio in Jashore, Bangladesh, and builds websites for clients abroad. Where we quote our own prices, they are our real published starting prices.

Why businesses outsource to Bangladesh

Bangladesh has a large pool of people doing online work for clients abroad. In a July 2017 snapshot of the Oxford Internet Institute's Online Labour Index, Bangladesh supplied 16% of the world's online workers, second only to India at 24%, as reported by The Daily Star on 22 July 2017. That figure is old, so treat it as background rather than a current count.

The practical reasons are simpler. Prices are set for the local market, so a fixed quote in US dollars can go further than at home. The working day also overlaps with the UK and Australia, and for North America the overlap falls in your evening and early morning, which suits work reviewed overnight.

What web development costs when you outsource to Bangladesh

Prices vary a lot between providers, so ask for a written figure every time. For reference, these are WebDesignerBD's starting prices, the same packages we sell in Bangladesh, shown in US dollars at an indicative rate:

ServiceStarting price (USD)
Business website (up to 6 pages)$40
Ecommerce website (WooCommerce)$80
WordPress development or redesign$80
Website speed optimization$40
Local SEO, monthly$65 a month
Technical SEO$125

A starting price is the lowest figure a package begins at. The final figure is a fixed written quote once the scope is clear. The full list, including the exchange rate used, is on the pricing page.

What pushes a quote up is the same everywhere: more pages, more languages, custom features, content writing, and repairs to an old site before new work starts. Our website making cost guide explains each of these in more detail.

How payment works

Ask how you will pay before anything else. WebDesignerBD takes payment by Wise or Payoneer only, and quotes in US dollars so you know the exact amount before you send it.

Wise's own page shows that it supports sending US dollars to Bangladesh, paid out in taka to a local bank account, with no Wise account needed by the person receiving it (Wise, checked November 2026). Fees and speed depend on how you fund the transfer, so check the current figure in your own account.

Time-zone overlap

Bangladesh uses a single time zone, six hours ahead of UTC, and does not use daylight saving time. Time.is states that Bangladesh has not had daylight saving time since 2009, and Wikipedia's Bangladesh Standard Time article records that the 2009 trial was cancelled in 2010 (both checked November 2026). So the gap to your city only changes when your own clocks change.

WebDesignerBD works 09:00 to 23:00 Bangladesh time, seven days a week. In your local time, that is:

  • UK: 03:00 to 17:00 GMT, or 04:00 to 18:00 BST in summer.
  • US and Canadian east coast: 22:00 the previous evening to 12:00 ET, or 23:00 to 13:00 EDT in summer.
  • US west coast: 19:00 the previous evening to 09:00 PT, or 20:00 to 10:00 PDT in summer.
  • Sydney: 14:00 to 04:00 AEDT, or 13:00 to 03:00 AEST in winter.

For a UK client, that is most of the working day. For a client in New York or Toronto, it means you can send feedback in the evening and find the changes done by your morning.

Communication: what to expect

Ask every provider how you will talk to them and who you will talk to. At WebDesignerBD you can use WhatsApp, email, Google Meet, Zoom or Slack, in English, Bangla, Urdu or Hindi. You talk to the founder, who is also the developer doing the work.

Agree on three habits at the start:

  1. One written place for decisions. Email or a Slack channel, so nothing agreed on a call gets lost.
  2. A short weekly update. What was done, what is next, and what is waiting on you.
  3. A staging link. You review the real site as it is built, not screenshots.

What to check before you outsource to Bangladesh

Choosing who to work with matters more than the country. Run every provider through this list:

  • Can they show live websites they built, with URLs you can open today?
  • Is there a case study with dated, verifiable data, not just mock-ups?
  • Who exactly does the work, and can you talk to that person directly?
  • Is the quote fixed, in US dollars, with the scope listed page by page?
  • Will the domain, hosting, admin login and code stay in your name?
  • Do they test on real phones and set up Search Console at launch?
  • What happens after launch: who fixes problems, and how fast?

As an example of the first two points, our BlueGuard website case study is a bilingual site for a duct cleaning company in Canada, built and supported remotely from Jashore. The search results it earns are on our page about local SEO for HVAC companies.

Risks and how to reduce them

Every outsourced project carries some risk. These are the common ones and the simple ways to reduce each:

  • Unclear scope. The project grows and the price with it. Reduce it with a written page-by-page scope and a fixed quote before work starts.
  • Lost access. The provider disappears with your domain or hosting. Keep every account in your name and give the provider their own login, which you can remove later.
  • Quality you cannot judge. Ask for live work and check it on your own phone. Start with a small job before a large one.
  • Slow replies. Agree on response times and one channel for decisions. Check the provider's hours against yours, as above.
  • Hidden subcontracting. Ask who does the work. With a one-person studio, the answer is the person you are talking to.

Agencies: white label work

If you run an agency, you may want to outsource to Bangladesh without your clients seeing a second name. That is called white label work. At WebDesignerBD, the credit shown on the finished site is whatever your agency wants: your name, ours, or none.

See white label web development for builds under your brand, white label SEO for search work, and hire a WordPress developer if you need one person on WordPress for a project.

Next step

The easiest way to test whether it makes sense to outsource to Bangladesh is a small, clear first project. Send what the site must do and a link or two you like, and you will get a fixed quote in US dollars. If you already have a site and want to know where it stands, ask for a free SEO audit; the report arrives within 2 days.
