In short
What is pre-order ecommerce website development?
Pre-order ecommerce website development means building an online shop that can sell a product before it is in hand: the page says clearly that the item is a pre-order, shows how much is paid today and how much on delivery, and the order system keeps those two amounts apart until the goods land. For Priyo's World that became a custom Next.js store where the advance is one store-wide percentage — currently 70% — and each product is switched to pre-order on its own.

The client: an importer selling across Bangladesh
Priyo's World is Priyo Hossain's online shop, run from Jashore Sadar. It carries gadgets such as night lamps, speakers and action cameras, along with watches, perfume, bags and men's clothing, and sells them in taka to buyers anywhere in Bangladesh.
Much of that stock is brought in from China. In the owner's words, this China import store is built for people in exactly that trade: a shipment is ordered, the goods spend weeks in transit, and the seller wants to start taking orders long before the cartons reach the warehouse.
A normal shop can only say 'in stock' or 'sold out'. The brief was a pre-order store that could also say 'on its way — reserve it now', take part of the money safely, and keep the rest for the doorstep.
The challenge
A pre-order store sells stock that has not arrived yet, and that raises questions a regular checkout never has to answer.
Two kinds of product
Items in the warehouse and items still at sea had to sit side by side without confusing anyone.
Money before goods
Buyers needed to see exactly what they pay now, what they pay later, and why.
Changing terms
The advance had to be adjustable without rewriting old orders or touching code.
Trust at a distance
People ordering from another district want to check a product, a price and an order's progress on their own.
What the pre-order ecommerce website development delivered
A China import store written from scratch in Next.js, shaped around how an import seller actually works: some goods on the shelf, some on a ship, and one back office for both.
Pre-order products
Any product on the pre-order website can be marked as a pre-order from its inventory settings; its card and page then carry a pre-order tag and a pre-order button.
Advance shown in taka
Each pre-order page works out the 70% and the remaining 30% from the live price and prints both amounts under the buttons.
One store-wide percentage
The advance lives in a single admin setting, and a change applies only to new orders — earlier orders keep their original terms.
Normal checkout for stock
Items already in the warehouse go through the usual cart with cash on delivery, bKash or Nagad.
Wallet payments, checked by hand
For bKash and Nagad the buyer enters the transaction ID, and the admin's 'payments to verify' list lines those up for checking.
Catalogue structure
Seven top-level categories with sub-categories under each, 21 brand pages and 39 category pages in the sitemap.
Specification tables
Every product has a tab of attribute rows — capacity, material, warranty and more — beside its description and reviews.
Offers that stay honest
Discounted items show the earlier price struck through and the saving, and an offers page gathers them all.
Guest checkout and tracking
Orders need no account, and progress can be looked up with just the order number and phone number.
Accounts when wanted
Shoppers may register with an email address or a Google account, then keep a wishlist and a compare list.
Phone-first layout
On mobile a bottom bar holds Home, Shop, Wishlist, Cart and Account, and a side menu opens the full category tree.
Owner admin panel
Catalog, orders, abandoned carts, customers and segments, coupons, flash sales, banners, shipping, payments, content, reports, staff and settings.
Inside the pre-order store
Screens were taken from priyosworld.com in mid-October 2026 and framed as desktop and mobile; the cookie notice was hidden for clarity. On the two admin screens every business figure, name and counter is blurred.
Design decisions behind the pre-order website
Say 'pre-order' everywhere it matters
The tag appears on the product card, the button and the product page, so nobody discovers the waiting time after paying.
Print both amounts, not a percentage
Buyers think in taka. Showing the exact advance and the exact balance answers the question before it is asked.
Keep the percentage out of the code
Import costs move. The owner can raise or lower the advance in one field, and existing orders stay as they were agreed.
Let stock and pre-order share one cart flow
A separate pre-order store would split the catalogue. One store with two product states keeps browsing simple.
Put the warnings in the back office
The admin's store-health panel counts pending orders, low stock, payments to verify and unread messages, so nothing waits unseen.
What every pre-order website needs
Planning pre-order ecommerce website development for an import business? An advance payment online store needs these parts to keep buyers and the books in order.
A clear product state
In stock, pre-order or sold out — visible on the card, not hidden in the description.
Exact amounts
Show today's payment and the balance in currency, worked out from the current price.
Adjustable terms
The advance should be a setting the owner controls, with old orders protected from changes.
Local payment methods
Cash on delivery for the balance, and bKash or Nagad for the advance.
Payment checking
A queue of wallet transactions waiting to be confirmed, so no advance is missed on a pre-order store.
Self-service tracking
Order number plus phone should be enough to see where a parcel has reached.
Full specifications
Imported goods need real attribute tables so buyers can judge them from a screen.
Abandoned-cart view
Seeing carts that stopped short tells the owner which incoming products people hesitate over.

How much does pre-order ecommerce website development cost?
WebDesignerBD's ready-to-sell online stores are priced from ৳9,999, which buys a WooCommerce shop without the logic a pre-order store needs.
A China import store website like Priyo's World — custom-built, with pre-orders on an adjustable advance, wallet-payment checking, guest tracking and a full admin panel — is priced only after we know the catalogue size, the payment methods and the back-office reports it needs.
That price comes to you in writing and is fixed before the first screen is designed.
Check this pre-order online shop yourself
The pre-order website is live for anyone. Load it on a mobile and look for the tagged products.
- 1Open a product with a pre-order tag and read the two amounts under the buttons
- 2Compare it with an in-stock product, which shows an ordinary add-to-cart
- 3Use the price range and sub-categories on a category page
- 4Open the specification tab on any product
- 5Try the order tracking page — it asks only for an order number and a phone
Questions about this project
01What is pre-order ecommerce website development?
It means creating an online shop able to sell goods before they arrive: products are marked as pre-orders, buyers see how much they pay now and how much on delivery, and the system keeps the advance and the balance apart. It suits importers whose stock is often still in transit.
02How does the 70% advance work on Priyo's World?
On a pre-order product the page shows 70% of the price as today's payment and the other 30% as the amount due on delivery. The percentage is one setting in the admin panel, and changing it affects new orders only.
03Can the same store sell in-stock and pre-order products?
Yes. On this pre-order store each product is switched to pre-order individually, so warehouse stock and incoming stock sit in the same categories and the same cart flow.
04Which payment methods does the store accept?
Three: bKash, Nagad and cash on delivery. With either wallet the buyer adds the transaction ID at checkout and the store confirms it.
05What is the Priyo's World website built with?
Next.js. Shop front and back office alike — the pre-order website and its admin panel — form a single custom application, not a theme or a plugin.
06How much does pre-order ecommerce website development cost?
৳9,999 is where WebDesignerBD's online stores begin. A custom build with pre-orders, an adjustable advance and an admin panel is quoted once we have talked through your catalogue and payments, and the figure reaches you in writing.
07I import from China — can you build a store like this for me?
Yes. Tell us what you import, how long shipments take, how much advance you want and which payments your buyers use; a fixed written price for your import business website follows before any work begins.
